is an urban regeneration project supporting local startup teams wanting to start businesses in Gunsan or expand existing businesses, providing space-based local startup customized programs, expert coaching, local resource connections, and collaboration opportunities with existing startup teams. It is the first case domestically of urban regeneration through innovative startup and social venture development.23 selected teams conducted startup education, networking with local entrepreneurs and local government officials, and trial business operations over 12 weeks, followed by expert consulting support to establish sustainable businesses. In October, a participatory festival was held to present team achievements and communicate with local residents.Starting in March 2019, 23 teams and 70+ entrepreneurs brought new vitality to the Gunsan region. They concretized various business items including renovating old spaces in Gunsan to build cultural and commercial spaces, planning local characteristic travel experiences, and developing local specialty products. They are creating meaningful changes in Gunsan that are difficult to achieve through government-led initiatives, through cooperation with government agencies and local governments, collaboration with existing local small businesses, and attracting external investment.
