Underdogs, a job training and startup education institution, announced on the 18th that the "University Student Startup Ecosystem: Build Up 2.0" forum was successfully concluded. The forum, jointly hosted by Underdogs, Gachon University's CocoSchool, and the SCOUT (Creative Startup Education Leading Universities) Metropolitan General University Project Group, was held as a partner program of "Next Rise 2024," the nation's largest startup event. The forum served as a venue to share diverse perspectives and experiences from experts in various fields regarding the university student startup ecosystem, including cases of fostering student entrepreneurs from Gachon University, which newly established an entrepreneurship college, the leading startup university case from Chung-Ang University, and corporate collaboration cases from Underdogs, a startup education specialist company. Additionally, the forum received positive responses from the audience through special guest lectures that conveyed stories from Japan's entrepreneurship education scene, which has recently begun creating innovation ecosystems through cases of Tokyo city cooperation with Japanese universities, as well as expert panel discussions centered on practical concerns of student startup leaders. Approximately 100 attendees from universities, local governments, investment firms, and other key ecosystem institutions participated at the venue to share perspectives and experiences with one another regarding ways to strengthen cooperation for revitalizing the university startup ecosystem. Sang-rae Cho, CEO of Underdogs, who delivered a special lecture on cases of cultivating young entrepreneurs in collaboration with companies, conveyed a message of cooperation to the audience, stating, "Many people still speak of 'romance' as an important keyword of university life. For entrepreneurs, it is a time when one can attempt slightly unconventional and bold challenges, and it's okay to fail—more so than in any other stage that follows. I hope we can work together so that university student entrepreneurs can fail more beautifully within campus, and that those memories can remain as the 'romance' of those days."
