(Photo courtesy of Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Seoul News) (Seoul News = Reporter Kang Yun-hyeok) A venue is being opened where over 180 organizations from government, private sector, and academia are gathering to seek solutions to social issues including climate change response, creation of local jobs, and support for vulnerable groups. The Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced on the 9th that it will hold the "1st Korea Social Value Festa" at COEX in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the 12th of next month. The event will be attended by the Korean Management Association, Social Enterprise Promotion Agency, Korea International Cooperation Agency, Korea Social Investment, Central Social Service Agency, Happiness Naraea, Underdogs, UNICEF, Enactus Korea, Impact Square, Happiness Alliance, AVPN Korea, B Lab Korea, and Asian Philanthropy Charitable Center (CAPS), among others. Various products from participating organizations will be introduced and sold through markets at the event venue. In addition to the opening and leaders' summit, diverse sessions including seminars, discussions, and case presentations will be held by 18 major institutions from academia, private sector, and non-profit organizations. The exhibition and promotion booths will feature approximately 130 participants including major group affiliates such as SK, LG, Kakao, Hoban, Kolon, Hyundai Marine and Fire Insurance, and BGF; government and public sector organizations such as the Ministry of Public Administration and Security, Korea East-West Power Company, and Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation; as well as academic institutions, cooperative organizations, social enterprises, and social ventures. Each booth will showcase various activity cases and ideas related to climate change response, local job creation, and support for vulnerable groups. At the "Value Consumption Experience Space" prepared by large corporations and social ventures, visitors can experience and purchase content and products related to sustainable lifestyles from approximately 50 markets. Registration for event attendance can be completed online through the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry website's event bulletin board and communication platform. Park Il-joon, Executive Vice President of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "This will be the largest-scale domestic event where all stakeholders working to solve social problems gather in one place.
