"Thinking transformation through discussion is also an advantage" "I participated to gain ideas and motivation for entrepreneurship through lectures and mentoring from successful entrepreneurs and experts." Jeong Woon (30, in photo), a young aspiring entrepreneur participating in Coway's 'Wi School Program,' said "Starting a business is about connecting good ideas and innovative technology to profit, but as you do it, you feel like you're hitting a wall." He added, "After seeing the curriculum that included experts I had always wanted to listen to as lecturers, I applied for Coway's Wi School." Jeong said he gained considerable encouragement from Chairman Go Young-ha of Go Venture Forum, who gave a lecture in the second session. In a situation where he felt vague anxiety about choosing entrepreneurship alone, unlike friends who chose employment, he gained courage from the similarity between Chairman Go's lecture on "the importance and necessity of entrepreneurship" and his own thoughts. He explained, "I empathized with Chairman Go's point that if you start a business in your 50s and fail, recovery is difficult, but if you challenge entrepreneurship as a young professional, you can either maintain it or avoid major future risks when restarting based on it. This became an opportunity for consolation that the path I chose for entrepreneurship was not wrong and a commitment to work harder." He cited Coway's provision of mentoring education together with Underdogs, an entrepreneurship education specialist and youth startup company, as another advantage of the Wi School program. Jeong said, "Since early-stage entrepreneurs have limitations in manpower and costs, it's important to reduce trial and error." He continued, "Through mentoring from experts before starting a business, I can get confirmation and view my business from various perspectives, which has been very helpful." He added, "Other prospective entrepreneurs participating together giving feedback from a consumer perspective is also an advantage, and during discussions, unexpected mentions sometimes become keywords that lead to a change in thinking." Jeong, who is preparing to start a funeral service-related business, has set the goal of establishing a corporation and securing 10 subscribers during the Wi School period. By Lee Bo-mi Reporter
