The Seoul Social Economy Support Center is focusing on discovering and nurturing young social entrepreneurs. It is recruiting students for the startup academy 'Underdogs Military School 8th Class.' According to the center on the 14th, this academy was designed to discover and nurture prospective social entrepreneurs who solve social problems through innovative solutions, centered on young people, and to cultivate them as social innovation entrepreneurs. Furthermore, this startup academy aligns with government policies for youth employment and entrepreneurship, such as the government operating a dedicated fund worth 100 billion won for nurturing innovative social ventures. The academy will be operated by Underdogs, a startup education specialist company, and will be conducted full-time over 6 weeks, providing an optimized environment for prospective young entrepreneurs to focus solely on entrepreneurship in an open space. The education program consists of: ▲Team building and 7-step startup hackathon ▲Perspective and problem identification ▲Item selection, verification, and concretization ▲MVP production and marketing ▲Business plan writing. Students can have one-on-one consultations with working entrepreneurs and experts, and after education, they can proceed with actual entrepreneurship linked to support projects such as social entrepreneur development programs. Applications can be made online by the 26th, and education will be conducted free of charge from the 3rd of next month to October 19th at Sangsang Cheong in Seoul Innovation Park, Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. Both individuals and teams planning to start a business can apply, and after document and interview screening, the final number of selected participants is 25 people. A center official said, "This education is an intensive course that supports young people with strong commitment to solving social problems to challenge entrepreneurship right after completing the education," adding "After the education ends, we will share know-how in social economy education by disclosing materials containing the educational know-how of social innovation entrepreneurship through the Seoul Social Economy Portal."
