SBA (Seoul Business Agency), a small and medium-sized enterprise support organization, announced that SPARK@DMC Season 1, the representative business networking platform of DMC, concluded successfully, and Season 2 will officially begin from October. SPARK@DMC is a casual business networking platform held on the third Thursday of every month, and has garnered attention for addressing DMC-specialized industries as its theme. The representative programs include special lectures where experts from various fields share business know-how and industry insights, IR pitching sessions where items can be verified and refined by experts and VCs, and gallery networking. SPARK@DMC Season 1 was held over three sessions starting from the launch event and established itself as the representative business platform of DMC with participation from over 200 people including SMEs and large companies located in DMC and Seoul, research institutes, and government agencies from various sectors. Each session featured insight lectures from industry experts, followed by IR pitching sessions where companies that had pre-registered could have their business models reviewed. A distinctive feature was the use of open chat rooms throughout the program to enable active communication among participants. During the subsequent gallery networking time, participants freely browsed business introduction materials from startups and SMEs displayed at the venue and explored diverse collaboration opportunities among participating entities. In particular, SPARK@DMC, held during the DMC Festival, was planned as 'SPARK@DMC X DMC Convergence Forum' together with DMC-related institutions such as DMC Conet and DMC University-Industry Promotion Foundation, creating greater synergy. The 2018 SPARK@DMC Season 2, which begins in October, will focus on corporate value activities and will be conducted around themes such as social innovation, marketing, and investment. The SPARK@DMC event in October that opens the doors for Season 2 will be held at 7 p.m. on the 18th (Thursday) at the S.Plex Center Synergium 3D Cinema, and will feature a special lecture titled '2019 Social Innovation Trends' by Kim Jung-heon, CEO of Underdogs Inc., with the theme of 'social innovation.' Participation applications can be made through the SBA website and Eventus every month, and attendance is free. Moon Goo-seon, Head of Industrial Base Division at SBA, stated, "We appreciate the great interest shown in SPARK@DMC Season 1 and the active participation in each session," and added, "The upcoming SPARK@DMC Season 2 will create diverse value through networking on essential corporate themes such as social innovation, marketing, and investment, so we ask for your continued interest."
