The Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center (Director Park Kwang-jin) announced on the 3rd that it held the 'Jeonbuk Impact Demo Day' in Gunsan to attract impact investment for social ventures in the Jeonbuk region. The event was held as part of the '2019 Regional Social Venture Fostering Project' in collaboration with Gunsan Youth Garden and Underdogs Inc., which signed a social venture fostering agreement with the Jeonbuk Center. The event began with presentations by Underdogs Manager Lee Seul-ki on 'Gunsan Localization Case Studies' and Gunsan Youth Garden Center Director Ahn Tae-wook on 'Regional Startup Ecosystem and Social Ventures.' The IR event featured investment pitches from seven companies: a small business convergence cooperative on metal processing maker collaboration platform, LED specialist company BK-C, Hayru (fine dust reduction barbecue device), Pittory (jewelry matching platform), Cloud9 (local tourism content influencer Pamtour), Bongsoob Company (product branding), and offline Damsoovs music boxing. Judging was conducted directly by impact fund specialist investors including New Black, Impact Square, IFK Impact Finance, PPL, and AAI Angel Club, with customized consulting provided for companies' social value capacity building and sustainable innovative growth. Ahn Tae-wook, Director of Gunsan Youth Garden, emphasized that 'social ventures in the local startup ecosystem should seek growth opportunities by becoming innovative companies through discovering and solving new social problems,' and stated, 'We will spare no effort in diverse collaboration and support for fostering true social ventures that contribute to the region.'
