Four local startups have come together with the goal of building a sustainable local ecosystem. Underdogs (CEO Kim Jung-heon) announced the formation of a 'Local Assemble' collaboration among four local startups, including itself, to establish local networks and activate exchanges. Local Assemble is anchored by startups operating in their respective regions: Underdogs (Seoul and Gunsan), The Wave Company (Gangneung), Factory Factory (Mokpo), and Build (Siheung). The four local startups plan to strengthen local impact by providing integrated membership for access to regional spaces and services, jointly planning and publishing regional startup-related materials, conducting joint workshops and hackathons for educational purposes, and hosting forums introducing outstanding cases by region. Additionally, a hackathon will be held on December 21st where creators working in each region discuss challenges they face and seek solutions together. Held at the starting line of Local Assemble to prepare for the future, the hackathon will take place simultaneously in Gunsan, Gangneung, Mokpo, and Siheung under the theme 'Can we live in our local communities?' Hackathons and networking programs will include establishing local business growth directions and plans designed by each region and company, producing new local content through collaboration among local creators, archiving regional resources for local business discovery, and drafting local project proposals. Moving forward, Local Assemble plans to continue sharing ideas and best practices by field such as content planning, development, and operations, while expanding exchanges and cooperation.
