Jeonbuk Province and the Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center will hold the first program of the regional social venture fostering project, 'One Day Impact School JUNE20,' at Cafe 'Universe' in Gyeongwon-dong, Jeonju on the 30th at 6:30 PM. The regional social venture fostering project is designed to nurture social ventures that simultaneously create social and economic value through innovative technology or business models. The project is hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, the Korea Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation, and the Korea Technology Finance Corporation, and is operated by a total of seven institutions including creative economy innovation centers in Jeonbuk, Daejeon, Gyeongnam, and Busan. The Jeonbuk Center aims to establish a Honam region social venture hub and is opening monthly One Day Impact Schools through collaboration with the Gwangju Center to showcase excellent businesses. Additionally, the center plans to create a forum to explore development directions by inducing participation and communication. At this event, along with Underdogs, a social venture specialist incubator, and Gunsan Youth Square, the center will share cases of excellent social ventures that have responded to the post-Corona era—NewBlack (Big Walk) and Gripplay—and discuss the necessity and development direction of social ventures in the post-Corona era through live talks with domestic and international social ventures. Jeon Seung-beom, team leader of Impact Square, will present on trends and responses in the social venture-related investment market and explain what social issues should be prioritized and what social and economic values should be proposed in the business sector. The non-face-to-face event will be attended online by aspiring social ventures, citizens, and students in the province and will be broadcast live on YouTube. Park Gwang-jin, director of the Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center, stated, 'Through monthly participation venues to understand social ventures, we will discover promising regional items and spread the culture,' and added, 'We will develop role models for social ventures as factors for economic revitalization in this era of new change.' Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Center plans to operate regional social venture fostering projects in a manner linked from discovery to investment, including not only monthly One Day Impact Schools but also membership programs for business support and accelerating camps for capacity building.
