UD JAPAN Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nihonbashi, Chuo Ward, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kim Jong-hon; hereinafter "ud.") is pleased to announce that it has been selected as a cooperative business operator for fiscal year 2025 under the "Diverse Entities Startup Support Deployment Project (TOKYO SUTEAM)" implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. (Cooperation period: October 2025 to March 2027) In this project, ud. will work in close collaboration with its parent company UDIMPACT, Inc. (headquartered in Seoul, South Korea), as well as numerous businesses and universities across three cities—Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei—to discover entrepreneurs of the U30 generation tackling Asia's social challenges from the initial phase, and provide nurturing and growth support through a highly practical incubation program. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government formulated "Global Innovation with STARTUPS" in November 2022 and is implementing an "unprecedented" startup strategy centered on Tokyo to realize a society where challengers can pursue their activities with hope. Additionally, in March 2025, it formulated the "2050 Tokyo Strategy," establishing policy goals for startups through 2035. This project aims to strengthen Tokyo's startup ecosystem through diverse startup support initiatives developed in collaboration between the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and various supporters, and by networking these supporters, thereby promoting the creation and growth of startups. The "ASIA IMPACT NEXUS-TOKYO" project—a social issue-focused entrepreneurship program undertaken through collaboration among three cities (Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei)—was selected for the cooperative project. This is an impact unicorn development program originating from Tokyo that contributes to achieving the "10X10X10" Innovation Vision. Businesses and universities in Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei will collaborate to discover entrepreneurs of the U30 generation tackling Asia's social challenges from the initial phase, and provide nurturing and growth support through a highly practical incubation program. Based in Tokyo, we will implement systematic educational programs and specialized coaching to develop entrepreneurs and impact startups addressing social challenges. By converting Asia's common social issues—such as aging societies, environmental problems, and regional depopulation—into business opportunities, we aim to create "Tokyo-born" impact unicorns that simultaneously achieve social value creation and business results. We are deeply grateful and greatly honored for the adoption of the "ASIA IMPACT NEXUS-TOKYO" social issue-focused entrepreneurship program, undertaken through collaboration among Tokyo, Seoul, and Taipei. We are also delighted to work together with our partner organizations, which possess abundant knowledge and resources. Through this project, we will create impact startups that simultaneously achieve "social issue resolution" and "sustainable growth," bringing positive impact to society, originating from Tokyo. We are deeply honored to participate in this groundbreaking initiative for a new era. We will maximize the use of our strengths—our "student network tackling social challenges" and our "experience enhancement program"—to learn together with all participants, improve through friendly competition, and work toward opening new possibilities connecting Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. We have been promoting entrepreneurship education with the mission of "creating a culture of youth challenge." We will maximize our knowledge and network and create a cycle of challenge and learning in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, contributing to solving social issues and nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs. Awakening Heart Base has been working in Taiwan with the mission of "impacting influential leaders." We are very much looking forward to joining hands with partners in Taiwan and Taipei, Japan and Tokyo, and Korea and Seoul to launch the "ASIA IMPACT NEXUS-TOKYO" Impact Unicorn Development Program. Through this initiative, we will develop young startup teams from three cities and tackle globally sustainable challenges. We want to generate innovative solutions and build a new model that achieves both business growth and contribution to society and the environment. The Asian market is a notable stage leading the global economy. Working with all our might toward the birth of leaders who will take on the next generation and change the world. In the "ASIA IMPACT NEXUS-TOKYO" project, we will actively promote collaboration with universities, university partnership organizations, startup support institutions, and businesses throughout Asia, including Tokyo.
