Underdogs, a practical startup education company, has produced 12 entrepreneurs (8 teams) through the 'Underwomen 4th cohort,' an educational program designed to help women in their 30s and 40s launch social ventures. 'Underwomen' is a startup education program for women that Underdogs has been running since 2018. It was created to help women whose careers have been interrupted by marriage and childcare grow into entrepreneurs based on their capabilities and perspectives on social innovation. The 4th cohort participants are women in their 30s and 40s who have either started or are preparing to start businesses, joining the program with personal problem awareness regarding issues such as childbirth and childcare, pet funeral services, abandoned local agricultural products, and women's career challenges. Starting with this cohort, Underdogs has introduced new operational methods to help participants immerse themselves more deeply in the early startup phase. The education duration has been expanded from a 1-night 2-day format to an 8-week program, and all processes including 1:1 coaching have been converted to online format (e-learning platform StartYours). Through this, participants were able to transform their ideas into products and services that customers actually want, with most teams preparing for MVP (Minimum Viable Product) testing. The teams produced by this program include: MommyTime (Kim Jong-eun, Lee Gyumin), which provides challenge-based communities and content for new mothers who have just given birth; Choi Eun-hee's team (Choi Eun-hee, Bae U-mi), which trains women with interrupted careers as marketers and connects them with daily necessities brands and companies; Two Rabbits team (Jang Seo-young), which provides after-school education planning solutions addressing childcare and education issues for working mothers raising pre-elementary children; and Sweet Math team (Choi Kyung-hee, Kang Sung-hee), which provides learning methods and educational solutions tailored to children's temperament and characteristics—a total of 8 teams. Park Byung-yong, a coach at Underdogs who led the Underwomen 4th cohort, stated: "I was deeply impressed by how women in their 30s and 40s authentically try to solve problems they experience in their surroundings, more so than other startup education teams. I believe this is a unique strength that only Underwomen can possess. Even after the education ends, we will support continuous growth by helping Underwomen participants share information and assist each other." He added that Underdogs plans to continue providing education and coaching to ensure female entrepreneurs can settle stably into the startup ecosystem and grow sustainably. Meanwhile, StartYours, the e-learning platform on which this Underwomen program was conducted, is a platform independently developed by Underdogs to maximize the advantages of offline startup education, and will launch on the 29th. The Underwomen 5th cohort education program, scheduled to open in the second half of the year, will also be held on StartYours.
