Social Impact Platforms Emerge as Corporate Social Value Realization Accelerates Social impact companies are defined as enterprises that donate corporate resources for sustainable development and solve social problems using company capabilities. Carrot Market helps activate local communities by facilitating connections between neighborhoods and neighbors. The platform has conducted voluntary volunteer participation campaigns, disaster relief fundraising, relief supply support, searches for missing elderly people with dementia, and sharing campaigns to bridge the digital divide. Connections with neighbors through Carrot Market are leading to local solidarity. When a nationwide urea solution shortage crisis occurred last November, the sharing community helped ease the crisis. BigWalk, which began operations in 2020, is expanding to enable citizens to implement companies' environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management together. Steps measured through the application are converted into monetary value, which can be donated to various campaigns conducted through BigWalk. By promoting carbon reduction and value-based consumption, the company was selected as a 'Company with Positive Influence' by 'Google Play' in August 2021 and won the '2021 Best Social Contribution App' award in December of the same year. Superbin prevents environmental pollution and provides financial benefits to users by increasing recycling rates. The company is redefining the value of waste and building a recycling ecosystem. Using the circular resource AI recovery robot 'Nephron,' the platform collects only recyclable waste and accumulates points for users. Connectivity is cited as the reason why social impact trends have been activated in platform companies. With COVID-19 restricting offline social contribution activities, platforms have served as bridges by replacing them with online activities. The fact that user participation doesn't end online but returns as offline benefits also drove activation. Individuals can visualize their impact on society, while companies can gain ESG implementation alongside positive branding effects. As a result, monthly active users (MAU) have increased explosively. Carrot Market grew more than threefold from 500,000 users at service launch in 2018 to 1.8 million in 2019, and as of February 2022, over 17 million users are active. BigWalk's MAU increased 313% from 40,000 users in 2020 to 165,000 in 2021, reaching 180,000 as of February 2022. Superbin's users grew from just 850 in February 2018 to 32,000 in February 2022. Professor Seo Yong-gu of Sukshin Women's University's Department of Business Administration analyzed, "The MZ generation, which is rapidly establishing itself as the current power through platforms, serves as a push factor, while the sustainability management report that must be submitted by 2030 acts as a pull factor, driving the growth of social impact companies."
