Underdogs: "Entrepreneurship education generates 2.5+ jobs per startup team" Startup education specialists Underdogs (representatives: Kim Jung-heon and Cho Sang-rae) announced the results of a survey titled "Effects of Entrepreneurship Education as Evaluated by Entrepreneurs," conducted on entrepreneurs who completed their entrepreneurship education program last year. The survey was conducted in a non-face-to-face format over 7 days from March 16 to March 23, with participation from 105 out of a total of 770 Underdogs alumni. The gender ratio of participants was 53.3% male and 46.7% female, with startup locations at 51.5% in Seoul and 48.5% outside Seoul. Age groups were relatively evenly distributed: 28.6% in their 20s, 36.2% in their 30s, 25.7% in their 40s, and 9.5% in their 50s. According to the survey results, 69 out of 105 respondents (65.71%) went on to actual startup ventures after receiving entrepreneurship education. To increase accuracy, startup was defined as completed individual or corporate business registration. The size of currently operating startup teams showed: solo founders at approximately 20.3%, 2-person teams at 33.3%, 3-person teams at 18.8%, and teams of 4 or more at 27.5%. This translates to approximately 2.54 or more potential job creation effects per startup team formed. The monthly average revenue of startup teams was: less than 2 million won at approximately 46.4%, 2-5 million won at 27.5%, 5-10 million won at 11.6%, 10-20 million won at 5.8%, and over 20 million won at 8.7%. The average estimate excluding extreme values was approximately 6.01 million won. Additionally, graduates of entrepreneurship education, regardless of whether they started businesses, consistently rated the effects of entrepreneurship education positively. 95.2% of the 105 participants (100 people) responded that "entrepreneurship is a field requiring education," and 94.3% (99 people) responded that "entrepreneurship education is effective for actual startup ventures." According to them, reasons for entrepreneurship education being effective included: indirect experience of existing entrepreneur cases (68.4%), gaining knowledge of latest startup trends and information (58.1%), forming networks with various startup teams (54.3%), and experiencing the actual market through MVP testing (40%). Underdogs CEO Kim Jung-heon commented on the statistical results: "We can confirm that entrepreneurship education has job creation and economic effects in an era of low growth. As part of global efforts to address imbalances in social development through ESG value realization, Underdogs will continue to provide optimized entrepreneurship education solutions tailored to individual entrepreneurs' characteristics and startup stages, based on overwhelming data from having trained over 10,000 aspiring entrepreneurs nationwide."
