SK Nexillis, a subsidiary of SK Group specializing in copper foil for secondary batteries, opened the third branch of 'Joy'n Jeongeup Sharing Store' in Jeongeup, North Jeolla Province, where it operates a domestic production facility. The Joy'n Jeongeup project was initiated last year by SK Nexillis in cooperation with Jeongeup City to build a co-prosperity foundation with the local community. The first and second sharing stores opened in October last year. According to SK Nexillis on the 10th, the third 'Shared Office' of Joy'n Jeongeup Sharing Store held its opening ceremony on the 8th. The shared office, created by remodeling an empty store in the first sharing store building, is expected to be utilized as a space for youth startup education initiatives pursued jointly with Jeongeup City. It is also anticipated to serve as a collaborative space for entrepreneurs and a community space accessible to local residents at any time. The social enterprise Underdogs will manage the operations. The sharing store is designed to create sales channels for young entrepreneurs, attract outside visitors, and vitalize the local economy. The first branch houses '+QQQ,' a brunch cafe showcasing local specialties like jam and butter, while the second branch features 'Aroma Mood,' a fragrance shop selling scent-infused products. A company official stated, 'The third sharing office was planned with the intention of being a space where anyone can comfortably visit and stay.' In the second half of this year, the company plans to convert the first and second sharing stores into different business types and open a fourth branch nearby, aiming to make Jeongeup's riverside road a 'signature street.' SK Nexillis will also actively engage in fostering local youth entrepreneurs necessary for revitalizing the local economy. Previously, on the 5th, SK Nexillis launched the '2022 Youth Startup Support Project' with Jeongeup City, which provides education, consulting, and initial startup funding for promising local young entrepreneurs. After completing 10-week training for 13 preliminary youth entrepreneur teams by June, the company plans to select 10 outstanding teams and provide 150 million won over three years along with various consulting services. An SK Nexillis official stated, 'Through the Joy'n Jeongeup project, we will create diverse programs and content that many Jeongeup citizens, young entrepreneurs, and visitors can comfortably use and enjoy, thereby revitalizing the local community and increasing social value.'
