Underdogs, a startup education specialist company (representatives: Kim Jung-heon and Cho Sang-rae), will open a shared office on May 2 as part of the 'Join Jeongeup' project in collaboration with SK Nexilys and Social Solidarity Bank, and is recruiting tenants for the facility. 'Join Jeongeup' is an urban regeneration project in the ESG era that began in 2021, jointly undertaken by Underdogs, which specializes in discovering and nurturing entrepreneurs, SK Nexilys, a company based in Jeongeup, Jeollabuk-do, and Jeongeup City to strengthen the competitiveness of local small business owners and enhance regional value. Following the development of local content through startups to attract tourists to areas near Jeongeup last year, this year the project plans to attract 20 startup teams rooted in Jeongeup City and create a community and startup ecosystem that leads to their settlement. Underdogs will operate the 'Join Jeongeup Shared Office' 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and directly support business development for prospective and early-stage startup teams working to vitalize the local community. Additionally, the company will provide a 10-week startup education program directly by Underdogs based in the shared office, and plans to operate community programs linked to startup education at least once a month, including special lectures. The Join Jeongeup Shared Office offers various benefits including free Wi-Fi, shared office equipment, personal lockers, designated personal seats, meeting rooms, Join Jeongeup shared store membership discounts, and security facilities. Depending on frequency of use, occupants can choose between unlimited 24-hour monthly passes and daily passes for needed days only. To commemorate the opening, monthly passes are being offered at a promotional price of 99,000 won until April 30. Cho Sang-rae, representative of Underdogs, stated, "Underdogs has operated with the belief that entrepreneurs nurtured through startup education can solve various problems faced by local communities across the nation, and in particular, that discovering and nurturing locally-based entrepreneurs themselves constitute social infrastructure suited to the ESG era." He added, "Going forward, we will continue to discover and nurture diverse entrepreneurs across the nation through various contents including startup education and shared offices." Detailed information about Join Jeongeup Shared Office and tenant applications are available on the Join Jeongeup website.
