Underdogs Hosts First Coach Meetup with 25 Coaches Supporting 70 Startup Teams Across 14 Programs Underdogs, a startup education specialist company led by Kim Jung-heon and Cho Sang-rae, announced that it held the 'First Underdogs Coach Meetup' at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 19th. 'Underdogs Coaches' is a group composed of current and former entrepreneurs nationwide or startup development experts who work with Underdogs to discover and nurture entrepreneurs who solve social problems and create economic value through startups. The program began in 2021 under the name 'Underdogs Partner Building Program (UDPB),' and participants must successfully complete the 3-day, 4-night 'Underdogs Coach Development Workshop,' which is the company's core curriculum, to qualify for activity. At the event, a total of 25 Underdogs Coaches attended and shared achievements in entrepreneur discovery and development activities accomplished through the Underdogs Coach program. According to performance data, Underdogs has so far developed 21 global and 33 domestic Underdogs Coaches. The trained coaches have been deployed in a total of 14 startup education programs, supporting the growth process of 70 startup teams. Additionally, the average satisfaction score of startup teams that developed their startup process together with Underdogs Coaches was 4.54 out of 5 points. Furthermore, 34% of domestically trained Underdogs Coaches are active in the Seoul-Gyeonggi area, while 66% operate in regions outside Seoul-Gyeonggi. Notably, 50% of Underdogs Coaches are from Underdogs alumni, who are students of Underdogs startup education programs. Underdogs CEO Cho Sang-rae stated, "Underdogs operates with the philosophy that innovation that changes the world begins with entrepreneurs. We launched the Underdogs Coach business to reduce trial-and-error experiences for aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs and to accelerate innovation. We will do our best to ensure that Underdogs Coaches become a new 'Pay it Forward' culture where experienced entrepreneurs help new entrepreneurs realize their innovative dreams more quickly." Meanwhile, Underdogs Coaches will be recruited monthly starting in June, with plans to develop a group of over 100 startup experts by the end of the year.
