Underdogs (Representatives: Kim Jung-heon and Cho Sang-rae), a startup education specialist company, is recruiting startup teams to participate in the 'Residence in Yeongwol' startup program in collaboration with The Wave Company and Yeongwol-gun until June 16, 2022. Residence in Yeongwol is a youth startup support program targeting young people currently residing in Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon Province, or those hoping to relocate there. The program aims to develop business models that solve various regional problems and establish a foundation for solving population decline and revitalizing the local economy through region-based startups. It targets pre-startup or early-stage startup teams within three years of founding. Underdogs announced that after this recruitment, a total of 12 selected individuals or teams will receive intensive hands-on startup training for approximately two months starting from late June 2022, with six hours per day. The program will include startup education specialized for the region, such as business plan writing based on local resource surveys and stakeholder analysis, followed by minimum viable product (MVP) testing to verify the marketability of developed startup plans, and branding processes. During the training, each startup team will be assigned an 'Underdogs Coach' who provides startup guidance based on actual entrepreneurial experience, with close coaching focused on actual market validation and business performance. In this process, startups from outside Yeongwol will receive support of up to 2 million won for accommodation costs, and after the program, they can receive bonus points in future startup projects conducted in Yeongwol-gun. Cho Sang-rae, CEO of Underdogs, stated, "Underdogs has produced over 10,000 diverse entrepreneurs nationwide and conducted startup education based on accumulated data, helping entrepreneurs establish business models capable of solving regional problems and generating economic effects. In particular, fostering and discovering region-based entrepreneurs can be a social infrastructure for solving population decline and regional extinction issues, as well as a method of practicing ESG."
