Traveling to unfamiliar neighborhoods outside of daily life brings excitement to everyone. Starting from a desire to add emotion to the thrill of travel, I engage in 'people travel' where I meet travelers in the neighborhood where I was born, raised, and will continue to live, while operating a space where travelers can take a brief rest, enriching Sojae-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon in diverse ways. Because I love people and cherish my neighborhood, conveying the value of the area through stories naturally led to 'people travel.' Walking through the alleys of the old neighborhood and sharing small stories with fellow travelers, even those I meet for the first time become comfortable conversation partners, and a journey naturally unfolds together. In travels where I listen to where people come from, what work they do, and their life stories, I collect and analyze travelers' experiences while creating diverse local content. Through conducting about 300 trips over 4 years and meeting 2,000 travelers, the database obtained has tremendous influence. Based on this, from operating spaces tailored to travelers' needs to producing tourism goods and promotional marketing activities, I create various values in a life walking alongside travelers. The possibility I discovered through month-long residence trips played a major role in my decision to start a local business based on the neighborhood where I live. Through travel, I discovered a way of life where I could help the community while living joyfully. After returning from a month-long residence trip, I quit my well-established marketing company job and began preparing for local travel entrepreneurship. To guide someone traveling through the neighborhood and provide them enjoyment in the neighborhood where I was born and raised requires preparation to observe the neighborhood anew. Instead of passing through familiar streets, I explore side alleys, collect stories from people I've lived with for years, and discover changes in long-abandoned houses. Starting to meet people from other regions in the neighborhood and traveling with them, I became a resident who loves the neighborhood more than anyone else, and now I've become a storyteller conveying the neighborhood's value to people from other regions. Based on these experiences, I'm also helping share neighborhood stories nationwide and supporting local businesses found within them. As technology advances, services that only people can provide are disappearing. However, travel is an activity that requires human encounters even as technology develops. If someone is looking for a local business they can do for a lifetime in the future, it might be worth experiencing traveling through their own neighborhood with people. The essence of local business ultimately lies in relationships with people. Among the dense relationships between people meeting with travel as a common denominator, a new market emerges that requires my unique experience. To solve regional decline issues, ultimately one must discover something that only people living in the region can do. Preparing local business for people visiting the region is the area that residents of that region can do best. If we convey the region's uniqueness by leveraging the experiences that only long-time residents can have, people will come to the region seeking meaningful newness, and within that, people will gather to conduct local businesses. Visiting once and leaving does nothing to help the region. I hope to see more local businesses that create new value from the region's uniqueness by visiting two or three times and making it something someone can recommend. I'm Park Jin-seok, representative of jinDoL and CXCompany, which collects and analyzes traveler experiences through 'people travel' in the Daejeon region and creates tourism content. By discovering travelers' needs through travel with rest and meeting with travelers, I create a tourism startup ecosystem from a traveler's perspective. I'm also active as an Underdogs coach to convey the value discovered here. ※ Local Game Changer is a local reporter group jointly conducted by Startup Recipe and Underdogs, introducing diverse voices from local startup ecosystems. Local Game Changer Starting entrepreneurship education in 2015 with the aim of 'discovering good entrepreneurial colleagues,' we've changed the flow of entrepreneurship education from one-way lectures to practice-oriented coaching education.
