DB Insurance announced on the 5th that it has selected 6 final teams through the recruitment of 'Green With U,' a social contribution project supporting social ventures aimed at creating social value in the environmental sector in collaboration with the Environmental Foundation. 'Green With U,' jointly planned by DB Insurance, the Environmental Foundation, and Underdogs, and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment, is a social contribution project that discovers, supports, and nurtures social ventures with innovative business solutions for environmental issues, thereby contributing to solving environmental and social problems and creating social value. Starting with the Transportation and Environment Challenge in 2019, DB Insurance has operated social venture support projects related to the environment every year. In 2023, to address environmental issues facing humanity such as climate crisis response, carbon neutrality promotion, and greenhouse gas reduction, and to strengthen overall social cooperation for a green future, DB Insurance launched 'Green With U,' a social venture support program that separately expanded the environmental sector from its existing projects. As a result of recruiting participating teams for approximately 5 weeks starting from February 1st, a total of 296 social ventures applied, and 6 social ventures were finally selected. DB Insurance, the Ministry of Environment, the Environmental Foundation, and Underdogs jointly participated in the selection process, focusing on evaluating the possibility of solving environmental and social problems and creating social value through the business solutions proposed by the participating teams. The 6 finally selected social ventures include WeePlant, which manufactures biodegradable smart pots for forest fire damage restoration; FileNeer, which provides smart electric vehicle charging solutions through intelligent power grids; and EcoL, which reduces carbon through improvement of waste plastic pyrolysis processes. DB Insurance plans to provide funding for activating the business of selected social ventures and customized accelerating services for core entrepreneurial competencies such as ESG management, legal affairs, taxation, accounting, and marketing. The company also plans to provide corporate consulting and follow-up support programs for continued growth and networking. An official from DB Insurance stated, 'We hope that this 'Green With U' social contribution program will serve as an opportunity to find measures for responding to climate crisis and sustainable development, and we will not spare support for the diverse social value creation activities of social ventures addressing environmental and social problems.'
